Samuel Eto'o

Looks like I missed this one. Anyway better late than never. The LFP have announced the kick off times for the first games after the christmas break and Barça's game at home to Mallorca has been brought forward to Saturday 3rd January and the kick off time is 8pm. Last season we played Mallorca in the last home game of the season, we threw away a two goal lead to lose 2-3 and Samuel Eto'o was booed by the crowd. Happily it seems that things have changed a bit since then.

Barça's Samuel Eto'o and Real Madrid's Iker Casillas

According to the two local sports papers the date and time of this season's first clasico match with Real Madrid has been set for Saturday 13th December with a 10pm kick off time. However, the report has yet to be confirmed by the club's webpage or by the LFP. The reports also say the referee for the game will be Luis Medina Cantalejo. This is the guy who gave us a disputable injury time penalty against Espanyol earlier this season. But before you get too happy about his appointment you should remember he also ignored a foul on Victor Valdés for the Espanyol goal in that game. Here's what I...

Bojan Krkic in action in last season's 4-1 win over Valladolid

The LFP have announced that next week's game with Valladolid will take place at 10pm local time on Saturday night. Barça will start the game knowing the result of Real Madrid who play Malaga at the Bernabeu at 8pm. Last season Barça beat Valladolid 4-1 with two goals from Bojan Krkic in what was probably his best game for Barça. Click here for my report on last season's match.
